Londell Wheeler Honored as High School All-American

On January 14, 2023, Londell Wheeler along with his parents, Londell Sr. and Diana (not pictured) was honored as a High School All-American at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. Londell was one of three New York State soccer players given the highest honor a high school athlete can receive due to his excellence on the soccer field, which led Glen Cove boys varsity soccer to its first county championship since 2016.

“Londell is a true example of what Big Red pride is all about and we wish him continued success in his collegiate soccer career,” said Coaches Brian Smith, Erick Pajuelo, and Christian Dottin.

“Londell exemplifies a true athlete who is admired by his teacher, peers, and all the staff here in Glen Cove. His selfless demeanor, hard work, commitment and dedication on the field radiates and inspires his teammates to achieve greatness. I am honored, proud and privileged to know a young man of such high moral character. Wishing you well in your future endeavors,” said Glen Cove Schools Athletic Director, Kim Riso.

"Londell is an exceptional student; athletically gifted, a good student and a young man with a humble heart!" said Dr. Maria Rianna, Superintendent.
