Our First Annual Research Symposium Was a Huge Success

On Tuesday, May 16th, Glen Cove Schools held its First Annual Research Symposium at Glen Cove High School. This event provided a unique opportunity for students in grades K-12 to showcase their research endeavors from this school year. From the delightful presentations on "Monarchs & Milkweed" by our enthusiastic Kindergartners to the impressive year-long research projects of our AP Capstone students, the symposium showcased a diverse range of topics and depth of investigation. Our Middle School students passionately shared their research on historical figures and modern-day issues, while our High School students in "Scientific Research I-III" courses shared their findings from water sampling at Garvies Point and DNA Barcoding through our partnership with Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory.

This event was a testament to the creativity, curiosity, and hard work of our K-12 students. It was inspiring to witness the wealth of knowledge and dedication on display throughout the day. We extend our sincerest gratitude to the teacher volunteers whose commitment and passion made this event possible. None of this would have been possible without the dedicated teachers who worked tirelessly to make this event a resounding success. We are proud of our students' accomplishments and grateful to all who contributed to this enriching experience. Together, we celebrate the spirit of exploration and academic excellence in our Glen Cove Schools community.
