Deasy Celebrates Italian Heritage Month
Italian American Heritage Month is celebrated every year to honor and recognize the centuries of achievements, successes, and valuable contributions of Italian immigrants and Italian Americans. On Thursday, October 20, members of the Rho Kappa National Social Studies Honor Society visited Deasy School and taught the students about Italian culture. They presented a lesson about what elements make up culture with a spotlight on Italian culture, the history of the tarantella dance, and ended with a fun craft project. On Friday, October 21, students learned how to dance the tarantella by Cara Fragias, Artistic and Executive Director of the American Street Dance Theater Company.
