Landing School Hosts Math Bee, Winners Advance to District Competition
On May 20, Landing School held its annual Math Bee. All fifth-grade students first competed in classroom math bees, with eight advancing to the schoolwide competition. David Y. won the competition after competing through multiple rounds and a championship sudden-death tie-breaker. David, along with runners-up Harris and Callie will represent Landing School at the District Wide Math Bee on June 2, where they will face off against the winner and runner-up from Connolly School. Congratulations to David, our Math Bee winner, and to Harris and Callie, our runners-up! We would also like to recognize all the participants as they were the top in the entire 5th grade class: Sophia,Tatiana, Edwin, Giovanny, Zoey, Callie, Christopher, and Nachikamdi.
Thank you to our administration— Superintendent Dr. Maria Rianna, Principal Ms. Jacklyn Burnett, Coordinator of Mathematics, Mr. Anthony Allison, Mrs. Liptzin, Mrs. Vaughan and Mrs. Shannon for the hard work organizing this event, in addition to Mr. Altamirano for serving as a judge. Finally, a big thank you to Mr. Barry, Ms. Lasser, and GCTV for live streaming this event for our school community.
