Advanced Placement achievements recognize high school students who excel in college-level coursework through the AP program, administered by the College Board. These achievements are based on students' performance on AP exams, which assess their understanding of rigorous course material.
Students can earn different levels of AP honors based on their exam scores:
- AP Scholar: Awarded to students who score 3 or higher on three or more AP exams.
- AP Scholar with Honor: Given to students who achieve an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken and score 3 or higher on four or more of those exams.
- AP Scholar with Distinction: Recognizes students with an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on five or more exams.
These achievements highlight students' dedication to challenging coursework and readiness for college-level studies.
The AP Capstone Diploma and AP Seminar and Research Certificate are prestigious achievements awarded by the College Board, emphasizing students' skills in research, analysis, and communication.
- AP Capstone Diploma: Awarded to students who score 3 or higher in both AP Seminar and AP Research, as well as on four additional AP exams of their choice. This diploma signifies mastery of advanced academic skills and a broad range of subjects.
- AP Seminar and Research Certificate: Granted to students who score 3 or higher in both AP Seminar and AP Research but do not meet the requirements for additional AP exams. It highlights their proficiency in research and analytical writing.
These programs prepare students for college-level work, fostering critical thinking, collaboration, and effective communication.
