Glen Cove Student Artists Recognized at Regional “Go APE” Exhibition

High School Artists

Glen Cove High School is proud to announce that three students from Mrs. Palazzo’s AP Art and Design class, Gianna DiMaggio, Milo Walthers, and Giorgina Dondero, have been selected to exhibit their work in the 19th Annual “Go APE” Advanced Placement Student Exhibition.

Hosted by the Art League of Long Island, this prestigious exhibition showcases two-dimensional and three-dimensional artwork created by 76 outstanding student artists representing 30 high schools across Nassau County and Suffolk County.

Watching Gianna, Milo, and Giorgina push the boundaries of their creativity this year has been an inspiration," said Mrs. Palazzo. "Having all three recognized on a regional level, and featured on the exhibition cover, speaks volumes about the talent and work ethic within our art department."

In addition to being selected for the exhibition, all three Glen Cove students are featured on the cover advertisement for the Art League’s “Go APE” exhibition. You can find the cover at https://artleagueli.org/exhibitions/go-ape.

We are especially proud to share that Gianna DiMaggio received an Award of Excellence for her piece Historic Rewind, a mixed-media collage incorporating fabric. Her work was selected by exhibition juror Michelle Palatnik in recognition of its exceptional technical skill and creative execution.

The public is invited to view the exhibition at the Jeanie Tengelsen Gallery. The show will be on display through March 21 and will conclude with a celebratory reception.

Exhibition Dates: March 7 – March 21, 2026

Gallery Reception: Saturday, March 21, from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Congratulations to our student participants and award winners for representing the Glen Cove art department with such distinction.
