Glen Cove High School Students Earn National Merit Commendations

National Merit Awards

Three Glen Cove High School seniors have been recognized for their outstanding academic achievement on the 2024 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). Peyton Angalet, Nicolas Chicvak, and Saoirse Fiedor each received a Letter of Commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC).

This distinction is awarded to students who place among the top 50,000 scorers nationwide out of more than 1.3 million students who took the exam. Commended Students are recognized for their exceptional academic promise and achievement.

Superintendent Dr. Alexa Doeschner praised the students saying, “This recognition shows their  academic excellence and hard work. We are very proud of Peyton, Nicholas, and Saoirse for representing Glen Cove at such a high level.”

The Glen Cove City School District congratulates Peyton, Nicolas, and Saoirse on this impressive honor and wishes them continued success in their academic journeys. The District also thanks their guidance counselors, Alyssa Andersen and Kristi McAuliffe, Principal Allen Hudson III, and Assistant Principal Victoria Franco for their continued guidance and support.
