Glen Cove High School Masquers Shine at 3rd Annual ESAG Awards

The Glen Cove School District is thrilled to celebrate the outstanding achievements of the Glen Cove High School Masquers. At the 3rd annual Eastern Student Artist Guild (ESAG) Awards, our talented performers and crew earned a sweeping collection of Gold and Silver honors for their recent production of Peter and the Starcatcher.

The Masquers’ dedication to their craft was evident to all. Adjudicators praised the production’s commitment to style and creative vision, highlighting the "strong showings overall in acting work and design."

Our students demonstrated exceptional technical skill and character work, earning the highest tier of recognition in several categories:

Comedy Production: Cast & Crew of Peter and the Starcatcher (Gold); Adjudicator Note: "Good work in committing to the style and concept of the show. Strong showings overall in acting and design."

Sound Designer/Technician: Mia Lupinski (Gold with Recognition); Adjudicator Note: "Exceptionally done... I really felt that it contributed sometimes as another character in the action."

Stage Manager: Gianna Gonzales (Gold); Adjudicator Note: "Cues were executed nearly perfectly... it is particularly difficult to manage your peers, but it seems as though they respected your leadership."

Performance by a Student in a Comedy: Leo Goldstein (Gold); Adjudicator Note: "Really well executed character... most impressive was your attention to objective and tactics."

Supporting Performance by a Student in a Comedy: Carolyne Datkhayeva (Gold); Adjudicator Note: "Very well done and enjoyable... I never felt like you were doing anything but having fun."

Ensemble in a Comedy: Company of Peter and the Starcatcher (Silver).

Performance by a Student: Kasey Miller (Silver) and Aiden Van Ommeren (Silver).

Supporting Performance: Rose Sullivan (Silver) and Mia DiFrancisco (Silver).

"The ESAG Board knows just how much work and dedication goes into what you do. Overall, it was a satisfying performance and the group seems to have the capacity to continue learning and applying comedic technique."
