Glen Cove City School District Welcomes Lauren Lavelle as District Coordinator of Instructional Technology

The Glen Cove City School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Lauren Lavelle as the new District Coordinator of Instructional Technology, effective July 28, 2025. Ms. Lavelle brings over 20 years of experience as an innovative teacher, instructional leader, and professional development designer, known for helping students and teachers effectively integrate technology into learning. 

Throughout her career, Ms. Lavelle has served as a Technology and Science Staff Developer, led award-winning professional development programs, and presented at national education conferences on topics including AI in education, STEAM, Genius Hour, and design thinking. 

Ms. Lavelle holds a Master of Science in Literacy Education from Adelphi University, a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Scranton, and has completed advanced studies in Educational Leadership at Binghamton University. She holds New York State certifications as a School District Leader, School Building Leader, and a Permanent Certificate in Pre-K, Kindergarten, and Grades 1-6.

“I am happy to join Glen Cove City School District and support educators in leveraging technology to enhance learning,” said Ms. Lavelle. “My goal is to help teachers and students use technology in meaningful, balanced, and integrated ways. I am excited for the opportunity to contribute to the district’s efforts in creating an innovative and supportive learning environment.”
