Congratulations to Our Tenured 🍏 & Retiring Staff 🍎

BOE June 3 2026

The Glen Cove City School District granted tenure to 11 faculty members and celebrated the retirement of 20 dedicated educators and staff members at the Board of Education meeting on June 3, 2026.

Superintendent Dr. Alexa Doeschner recommended the tenure appointments, which were approved by the Board of Education. Families, colleagues, trustees, and administrators attended the ceremony to recognize the honorees.

Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources Andrew DiNapoli opened the ceremony by highlighting the importance of tenure and introducing each recipient. Mr. DiNapoli emphasized their dedication, passion, and the lasting positive impact they have on Glen Cove students. As a symbol of the beginning of a long and meaningful career in the district, each tenured faculty member was presented with a green crystal apple paperweight.

The evening also celebrated 20 retiring staff members. Together these individuals represent decades of service across every level of the district's operations.

Superintendent Dr. Alexa Doeschner, Board President Angela Raimo and Vice President Anne Markoulis presented each retiree with a red crystal apple paperweight to honor their legacy in the District. Mr. DiNapoli shared personal reflections as each retiree was recognized for their incredible contributions to the District and its students. 

The District extends its gratitude to our retirees for their years of devotion, and offers its warmest congratulations and support to our newly tenured faculty as they continue to inspire the next generation of students.
