Glen Cove City School District Celebrates Ribbon Cutting for New Addition at Landing Elementary School

Glen Cove Schools Landing Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

The Glen Cove City School District held a ribbon cutting ceremony on September 26 to celebrate the completion of the new addition at Landing Elementary School. The event marked an exciting milestone for the school community, highlighting the district’s continued investment in providing high-quality learning environments for its students.

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Alexa Doeschner thanked the community for being there, noting that it was a special privilege to return to Landing Schools, where she once served as principal along with Dr. Israel and Mrs. Carfora. She expressed what an honor it was to share in the celebration. Board of Education President Dr. Angela Raimo also spoke, expressing her gratitude to the Glen Cove community for its ongoing support. “This project reflects the hard work and vision of our past and current administrators and of past and current Board of Education members,” Raimo said. “We are excited for this beautiful new space for our students to learn and grow for years to come.”

Following the ribbon cutting, guests toured the new facility, which includes four new classrooms, an elevator, and updated bathrooms—enhancements designed to improve accessibility and accommodate the district’s growing needs.

The district extends its appreciation to all those who contributed to making this project possible and looks forward to the many opportunities this new addition will bring to Landing Elementary School.
