Finley Middle School Celebrates Eighth Grade Moving-Up Ceremony

Congratulations to our eighth graders on moving up to high school! Two ceremonies were held on June 24 at Glen Cove High School—the Checola Team at 5 p.m. and the Kenney Team at 7 p.m. Assistant Principal Thomas Pye welcomed families, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance led by Panagiotis Karathansis. Our top students—Giselle Graziosi, Hadee Ali Jaffar, and Dean Ramnarian—delivered inspiring speeches.

Superintendent Dr. Maria L. Rianna and Principal Nelson Iocolano shared thoughtful remarks before the Presentation of the Class of 2025. 

Each student received a diploma and was personally congratulated on stage by Superintendent Dr. Rianna, Principal Nelson Iocolano, Assistant Superintendent Dr. Alexa Doeschner, and High School Principal Allen Hudson.

A musical performance of "Time of Your Life" by the seventh- and eighth-grade chorus, directed by Courtney Sack, was a highlight of the ceremony.
