FAME GC to Host Fundraising Event in Support of Arts and Music Education October 21

FAME GC (Friends of Arts & Music Enrichment GC) is excited to announce its upcoming fundraising event, taking place on October 21, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at The Marker in Glen Cove. The evening will feature a delightful dinner, raffles, and a cash bar. Tickets are available for $65 per person and can be purchased via PayPal or Zelle at @FAMEGCINC, through the FAME GC website at famegc.org, or by sending a check payable to FAME GC INC to PO BOX 833, Locust Valley, NY 11560.

All proceeds from this event will go directly toward supporting FAME GC’s mission to enhance arts and music education in the Glen Cove community.

The event will bring together parents, educators, alumni, and community leaders to celebrate the pivotal role arts and music play in local schools. Attendees can hear about FAME GC’s initiatives, including its partnership with the Glen Cove School District to provide students with access to Broadway performances.

As part of the evening’s festivities, FAME GC is proud to honor Edward Norris, Director of Choral Music at Glen Cove High School, and a dedicated 22-year veteran teacher, as the next honoree on the prestigious FAME Tree of Inspiration. Mr. Norris will be honored with a leaf on the Tree, an art installation in the main lobby of Glen Cove High School. A separate ceremony will be planned in coming months, when FAME GC installs a leaf containing Mr. Norris’ photo and quote alongside other Tree of Inspiration honorees including former Glen Cove faculty Sally Zwiebach, Dale Zurbrick, Thom Ruckert, and “AJ” Johnson. FAME GC remains dedicated to providing resources, scholarships, and programs that nurture music and arts education within the district. From offering scholarships and equipment to organizing enrichment programs, the organization is continuously expanding its reach to benefit Glen Cove students. FAME GC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that relies on donations from individuals and businesses, including from GC alumni, community members, and supporters of arts and music education nationwide.
