Deasy School Unveils New Gaga Pit, Celebrates First in Math Champions
Deasy School is excited to announce the official opening of our brand-new gaga pit—a fun and active addition to our playground, made possible through the efforts and achievements of our First in Math champions. This project was funded in part by the winnings earned by our student champions: Tommy, Drew, Jake, Arianna, Heavenly, and Oziel. We are also incredibly grateful to the Glen Cove Education Foundation for their generous support in bringing this project to life.
In a special ribbon-cutting ceremony, this year’s First in Math winners—Diego, James, and Anthony—had the honor of officially opening the gaga pit for student use. The celebration served as a fitting tribute to their academic success and school spirit.
A special shout-out goes to Ms. Crumlich’s class, whose students not only made up the majority of our First in Math award recipients but also demonstrated outstanding behavior during dismissal earlier this week. As a reward, they received additional recess time—just in time to be the first group to enjoy the new gaga pit.
We look forward to seeing our students enjoy this new space, which encourages fun, teamwork, and active play. Congratulations to all of our First in Math champions and thank you to everyone who helped make this project possible!
Thank you to Danielle Fugazy, Glen Cove Education Foundation President, Superintendent Dr. Rianna, and Assistant Superintendent Theresa Kahan for attending and for your continued support.
