Board of Education Holds Annual Reorganization Meeting for the 2025-2026 School Year

District Swears in 2025–2026 Board of Education and Welcomes New Superintendent

The Glen Cove City School District Board of Education held its annual Reorganization Meeting on Wednesday, July 2, 2025. During the meeting, Dr. Alexa Doeschner was officially sworn in as Superintendent of Schools. The district is thrilled to welcome Dr. Doeschner to her new role and looks forward to her leadership in the year ahead.

Board President Angela Raimo, Vice President Anne Markoulis, Trustee Lia Leone, and newly elected Trustee Brett Miller also took the Oath of Office for three-year terms.

The Board appointed several key officers and administrators for the 2025–2026 school year, including Bryce Klatsky as Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction, and Technology; Victoria Franco as High School Assistant Principal; Nicole Mardak as Assistant Director of Special Education; and Liza Carfora as Principal of Landing Elementary School.

Ida Johnson was officially sworn in as District Clerk. This year’s Board of Education will also include student representative Ryan Martino.

The Board adopted its meeting schedule for the 2025–2026 academic year. Meetings will take place in the Glen Cove High School Auditorium at 150 Dosoris Lane, Glen Cove at 7:30 p.m., unless otherwise noted. Please visit the district website calendar for a full list of meeting dates. All community members are welcome to attend. Families are especially encouraged to participate and share their voices in support of their children’s education.
