8th Graders Excel at 2025 NY State Conference: A First for Our Middle School

Our 8th graders had an incredible experience attending the 2025 NY State Conference at LIU Post. Students from Ms. Tanner and Mr. McKinnon’s classes proudly represented our school, standing out as the only middle school among more than 60 high schools from across the Northeast. Mr. Simon’s class participated as customers to strengthen their business skills in preparation for next year’s event.
The students promoted their class-created business, Skin Ink, which offers temporary, non-toxic markers safe for drawing on the skin. Through their creativity and hard work, they earned an impressive $51,277 in sales during the event. A special thank you goes to the Glen Cove Printery for their generous contribution. This was our first year competing as a middle school, and we are so proud of all our students’ dedication, teamwork, and success! The project provided students with valuable experience in business development, marketing, and sales.
