Textbook Program for Non-Public Schools

Welcome to the Glen Cove City School District!

As a resident of the district with a child or children attending private or parochial schools, the District is responsible for providing educational textbooks for your student(s).

Please note the following important information:

• Elementary School Students:
  If your child will be attending a private/parochial elementary school, textbooks will be provided directly to the school prior to the start of the school year.
• High School Students:
  If your child will be attending a private/parochial high school, the school will submit a list of required textbooks to Glen Cove School District based on your child’s academic schedule. (Please note: the District does not provide novels or access codes.) You will be able to pick up these textbooks during the designated distribution week in late August.

Student Registration Requirement:
All students must be registered with the Glen Cove City School District in order to receive textbooks.

• If your child is using district transportation services, registration will be handled through the Transportation Department.
• If your child is not using District transportation services, you must register through the Private/Parochial School Textbook Room. 

Textbook Room Hours:
The Textbook Room is open during July and August, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Please remember:

• All textbooks are loaned for the academic year and must be returned by the designated deadline.
• It is your responsibility to ensure books are returned on time to avoid late fees or replacement charges.
• Books may be returned throughout the year at Thayer House, but must be returned no later than the final return date.
• No additional orders will be processed until all previous textbook loans have been returned and cleared.
