• Emergency Closing and Delayed Openings

    When severe weather conditions or an emergency requires the closing of schools, information about school closings or delayed openings will be posted on the district website and will be telephoned through the School Messenger system at approximately 6:30 a.m. Additionally, notifications will be placed on CH12 News. Please check with individual schools regarding each school's method of notification & bus stop adjustments due to weather concerns.

    DELAYED OPENING

    Parents will obtain information from television and from School Messenger calls. Bus schedules will be adjusted accordingly depending on the delay. All morning programs and services are canceled during delayed openings.

    In the event of inclement weather, a delayed opening of school by one (1) or two (2) hours may be implemented by the Superintendent.

    • GC High School

      • During a one-hour delay, students may enter school at 8:00 a.m. and report to first period at 8:30 a.m.

      • During a two-hour delay, students may enter school at 9:00 a.m. and report to first period at 9:30 a.m.

    • Finley Middle School

      • During a one-hour delay, students may enter school at 9:00 a.m. and report to first period at 9:10 a.m.

      • During a two-hour delay, students may enter school at 10:00 a.m. and report to first period at 10:10 a.m.

    • Connolly / Landing Elementary Schools

      • During a one-hour delay, school begins at 9:10 a.m.

      • During a two-hour delay, school begins at 10:10 a.m.

    • Deasy / Gribbin Elementary Schools

      • During a one-hour delay, school begins at 9:55 a.m. 

      • During a two-hour delay, school begins at 10:55 a.m.

    • Landing and Deasy Pre-Kindergarten

      • During a one-hour delay, school begins at 9:30 a.m.

      • During a two-hour delay, school begins at 10:30 a.m.
