The Glen Cove Board of Education has engaged with District Wise Search Consultants to conduct the search for its next Superintendent of Schools.

Dr. Maria Rianna’s retirement will be effective June 30, 2025.

On behalf of The Trustees of the Glen Cove City Board of Education, we invite residents of Glen Cove City School District to attend a forum led by the search consultants. Your input will be invaluable to us while we create a profile for your next Superintendent. A meeting has been scheduled for March 4, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. in the Middle School Library. The participation of all stakeholders is very important during this process. All information gathered will be included anonymously in a report that will be prepared for the Board.

This address will accept emails until March 6, 2025, for inclusion in the report. Any e-mails received after this date will be forwarded anonymously to the Board of Education.   

The Glen Cove City School District (GCCSD) Board of Education and search consultants, District Wise Search Consultants (DWSC), are interested in community input as they seek to find a new Superintendent of Schools. Board of Education Communication regarding Superintendent's Retirement
October 2024

Glen Cove is located on the North Shore of Long Island 27 miles east of New York City. Founded in 1668, the city now has a population of approximately 28,000, with diverse ethnic, economic, and religious backgrounds.

The Glen Cove City School District, established in 1830, currently educates approximately 3,000 students in grades pre-K through 12. The district consists of six school buildings, including a pre-K program; four elementary schools; one middle school, and one high school. Our enrollment by ethnicity is 67% Hispanic, 21% White, 7% African American, 3% Asian, and 2% Multiracial. Additionally, 22% of our students are English Language Learners. 

 

We are dedicated to providing all of our children with an education of the highest caliber. Our future rests in the hands of today's children. Education is the key to improving the quality of their lives.
