Homecoming King and Queen

The Glen Cove School District celebrated Homecoming 2026 on September 25 and 28, bringing together students, staff, alumni, and community members. The festivities opened on Friday, September 25, as high school football players and cheerleaders visited the district’s elementary schools. Younger students welcomed the athletes with handmade signs and pom-poms. Later that afternoon, Glen Cove High School held its annual Pep Rally, recognizing fall athletic teams and introducing the Homecoming Court. The afternoon featured performances by the cheer squad, kickline, and drumline, with GCTV live-streaming the event for community members watching from home.

After weather from a passing Nor’easter delayed the outdoor athletics over the weekend, rescheduled Homecoming games took place on Monday, September 28. The Girls Varsity Soccer team secured a victory against Elmont, while the Varsity Football team faced North Shore in a 23–7 loss.

The Glen Cove High School Band, directed by Brittney Frank Rifkind, performed throughout Monday’s football game. Halftime included showcase routines by the band, kickline, and cheer team, as well as the crowning of the 2026 Homecoming Queen, Gianna DiMaggio, and King, Ryan Lebowitz.

The district thanks the Board of Education, administration, alumni, and community members for their continued support.
