Glen Cove High School student musicians were treated to a world-class musical experience with renowned violinist David Kim visiting the school for a special masterclass.

Under the leadership of Glen Cove High School Orchestra Director Tay Kwak, students had the unique opportunity to perform for and work directly with Mr. Kim, who has served as the Concertmaster of the Philadelphia Orchestra since 1999.

During the session, Kim provided personalized instruction, sharing insights on technique, artistry, and performance confidence drawn from his distinguished career. Kim’s extensive musical journey began at age three and earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Juilliard School.

“It was an inspiring morning that our students will remember for years to come,” said Mr. Tay Kwak, Glen Cove High School Orchestra Director. “I hope they can appreciate Mr. Kim's dedication and discipline, and believe that they too can achieve such heights with the same mentality.”

The Glen Cove City School District extends its sincere gratitude to Mr. Kim for dedicating his time and expertise to enriching the musical education of our students.
