Location:  High School Room 233

Description:  GCHS would like to recognize and encourage those who enjoy and excel in mathematics. Students joining Mu Alpha Theta will share their understanding of mathematics by tutoring their peers on a regular basis (1 period per school week). In addition, Mu Alpha Theta members have the opportunity to participate in Mathletes while also helping to plan department events such as “Pi Day”.

Eligibility Requirements:  Currently enrolled in OR completed Geometry (Regents or Honors level), Minimum weighted average of 90 in high school mathematics classes

Application Availability:  Students meeting the above eligibility requirements and acceptance criteria will be INVITED to join. 

Application Deadline:  Students invited to join Mu Alpha Theta will be informed, by mail, over the summer.

Induction Ceremony:  Spring *date to be determined

Membership Requirements:  Peer tutoring - 1 period each week during the school year
