About Our Department

The mission of the Glen Cove Comprehensive School Counseling Program is to advocate and provide support to maximize student achievement and support students in the areas of emotional, social, career, and academic growth. School counselors work with parents, educators, and the community to provide developmentally appropriate services that meet the needs of all students in order for them to become productive members of an ever-changing global society. The counseling department is an essential component of student success and counselors recognize that a well-balanced education is necessary for students to develop into responsible, open-minded, reflective, and well-rounded individuals. In addition to the school counseling program, Glen Cove City School District is a student-centered school district that stresses excellence in an environment of high expectations and high support. We encourage our students to reach their highest level personally, academically, and to think more globally.
