Class of 2024 Senior Spotlight Fall Sports

Jaden Aguilar 

One of my athletic highlights was serving as a game captain. A favorite memory for me was winning my first game after an entire season of losses; it felt great to win again!
Looking ahead, I plan to purse a career in biomedical engineering through college.
The most influential person to me is my mom, who consistently inspires and encourages me to strive for improvement.

Playing soccer is my athletic highlight.
One of my favorite memories in sports is the moment I scored my very first goal in soccer, I immediately ran towards my mom and hugged her.
My future  academic plan is to attend college and play soccer there.
The most influential people in my life are my mom and dad because they believe in me.

My future plans are to become an elementary school teacher and continue cheer in college. 
My mother is the most influential person in my life because she never gives up and is the strongest woman I know.

One of my most memorable athletic highlights was during my freshman year when I played my first varsity game on senior night and successfully scored.
My favorite soccer memory is when Fal was late for our bus to an away game. We hadn't heard from him and searched for him for a good ten minutes and later walks in the door with a fresh haircut.
My academic plan is to get into a good college and major in business.
I plan to maintain an active lifestyle by going to the gym and keeping this routine during my college years. 
My parents have been the most influential people in my life because they consistently motivate me and always have my back. They have guided me throughout my entire life by teaching me values, lessons, and making the right choices.

Virginia Graziosi

My athletic highlights include two years on Varsity Tennis, two years on Varsity Kickline, and 14 years in pre-professional dance.
My favorite memory from tennis is everyone coming together and celebrating senior night and our big win against Oyster Bay. I love playing tennis because once I step on the court, I am able to focus on the game and not worrying about everything else going on.
I want to be a veterinarian, so I want to study animal science or biology.
While I don't intend on playing tennis for a collegiate team, I plan to keep playing with my friends and family.
My mom has been the most influential person in my life because she had to adapt to a new life in America at a young age and had to work extra hard to achieve everything she has today. When she was young, she had to work and take care of her family so she wasn't allowed to play sports, which makes me even more grateful for all of the sports I am able to take part of today.

My favorite memories are the pep rally performances.
I plan to attend college and major in science.

My favorite athletic highlights were during my sophomore year when I got pulled up to Varsity and scored my first goal.  
My favorite soccer memory is when Fallen tried to teach us to head the ball and made us peck at the ball.
My plans for my academic future are to continue studying at Dominican University where I plan on majoring in early childhood education.
My athletic plans for the future are to continue playing lacrosse at Dominican University.
The most influential people in my life are my parents. My parents have supported me through everything, and taught me to never give up and always leave my best effort on and off the field.

Erasmo Mendez

The highlight of my athletic journey has been reaching two Nassau County finals within two years. We won one of those finals and advanced to the Long Island Championship (LIC) with the team last year. 
My favorite memory on the field was during my sophomore year when I got my first assist on the varsity team. It's my favorite moment because it allowed my friend to score his first goal of the season in his senior year. It turned out to be his only goal that year. I am uncertain of my academic plans but I hope to play soccer in the future. 
My parents are the most influential people in my life because they support and encourage me to become better. 

Emmanuel Olivier

My favorite memory was during my sophomore year on JV where we had a shutout and held Sewanhaka to zero points the whole game. It showed how all of the work we did throughout the weeks payed off and showed how our team was strong mentally and physically.
I plan to attend college and major in business and minor in history. If I am able to I’d like to continue to play football at a collegiate level but if not I’d like to continue with Track and Field.
The most influential person in my life is my mother because she is a strong woman of color who doesn’t let any setback get to her head. She always has a smile on her face and is always there to help people in their darkest times. She has always told me to be a leader and not a follower. She is someone I will look up to for the rest of my life.

Daniela Recinos

One of my most cherished athletic highlights came during my second year of Kickline. My favorite memory is definitely hearing the crowd hype our team up before, during and after our performances. 
My plans for my academic future is to become an X-Ray Tech. I plan to attend NCC for two years and enroll in their Radiology Program.   Although I don't plan on playing sports at the college level, I plan on joining my local gym and staying fit.
The most influential person in my life is my mom. She has taught me to be independent and to succeed always even on your worst days.

My favorite memory is my last ever pep rally, performing for the whole school indoors again (like how it was before covid) was so much fun and all my girls had great energy.

My future academic plans are heading to college after graduation to advance my education and earn my degree in criminology.
The most influential person in my life is my mom for supporting me with everything I do.

One of my favorite memories was winning the Nassau County final because we fought hard last year and we lost in the final; it was special because it was our revenge against the same team. 
Looking ahead, I plan to pursue a college education and obtaining a master's degree in Computer Science, while I also plan to continue playing soccer in college.
The most influential person in my life is my mom.

Olivia Bifone

My athletic highlight is playing tennis for 6 years and being on the high school tennis team since 8th grade.
My favorite memory is winning the division championship last year. It felt like our hard work payed off, and I was on a team with some of my closest friends. 
I plan on attending college and pursuing early childhood education. 
The most influential people in my life have been my parents. They have pushed me to be the best I can my entire life. They are my support system.

Jessica Callaghan

One of my athletic highlights was winning the title of MVP!
My favorite memory was my first performance because I was really nervous and excited.
My future plan is to attend college and further my education to fuel my career. I plan to participate in recreational sports in the future.
The most influential people in my life are my parents because they helped me and inspired me when I needed them to.

One of my athletic highlights was when I got my first dig during a big game against LV.
My favorite memory on the court involves the light-hearted moments spent with Coach Carbone and Kernes during every game and getting yelled at to focus.
My plans for my academic future is to study psychology in college. I hope to continue playing lacrosse in college.
The people who have been most influential in my life are my parents. My parents were born and raised in Italy and they did not have the same opportunities I now enjoy. They support and encourage me to make the most of every day and opportunity.

My favorite memory on the field was when I was first brought up to the varsity team, where I had started and played the entire game. It was a great game and I got the chance to showcase my abilities and work on my skills. 
My goal is to continue attend college with a focus on physical therapy or athletic training. In college, I want to continue playing sports and hopefully attend a school where I could succeed in.
The most influential person in my life is my older brother. He has taught me to keep moving forward in life no matter the obstacles that come my way, how to be patient and to put my mind to something that I want to accomplish in life.

Alisson Escobar

My athletic highlights are two years of Kickline and one year in track. 
My favorite memory is my first dance performance in Kickline, a moment where I overcame many fears and anxieties that I was once afraid of.
My future plan is to become a nurse while continuing to dance and perform with Kickline. 
The most influential person in my life was my mom. She helped me overcome many obstacles and instilled in me the spirit of dreaming big and maintaining a positive outlook.

One of my highlights this year is being a captain for the varsity cheer team.
My favorite memory is performing at pep rally and homecoming. Being able to perform our routine in front of everyone really shows all the hard work and dedication we put into the season and hearing all the cheering from the crowd always gives me such a high.
I am planning to attend a university and major in nursing with a specialty in pediatrics. I am planning on trying out for the cheer team at the university that I'm going to attend.
I am most influenced by my parents, they are always there for me and have always been my number one supporters.

One of my memorable athletic highlights is receiving the number one rank on the team and being named captain. My favorite memory from the golf season is playing alongside my friends from LV, CP and CSH.
My future plan is to serve in the Navy as an Air Rescue Swimmer while I also plan to continue playing golf after high school.
My parents are the most influential people in my life because they push me to be a better person and guide me through the ups and downs of life's challenges.

One of my athletic highlights was the exhilaration of scoring a goal. My favorite memory is winning the County title last year.
Looking ahead, my  plan is to attend a SUNY school and pursue a career as an athletic trainer, while I also plan to continue playing Division 3 or club soccer in college.
The most influential person to me is Coach Dottin; his motivation and guidance helped me to become a better athlete.

The highlight of my athletic journey is making the soccer team. One of my favorite memories is playing against North Shore.
My plans for my academic future is to attend college and study meteorology. I plan on playing club sports in college.
My mom is the most influential person in my life because she has always strived for me to be better.

One of my athletic highlights has been competing in the 100m hurdles in track and attending every pep rally.
My favorite memories are the pep rally performances because everyone is so hype and vibes are immaculate.
I plan to attend SUNY Albany and study psychology. 
The most influential people in my life are my older sisters. They influenced me to join the track team back in 7th grade. My older sister was a part of the kickline team in high school and she encouraged me to join and now I love it.

Sasha Brennan

One of my athletic highlights was being made captain of the Kickline team for both my junior and senior years. This is very meaningful to me because I am very passionate about it and I enjoy being able to lead my team while doing something I love.
My future academic plan is to major in Biology and pursue the premed track. 
The most influential person in my life is my mother because she is the strongest person I know. She has taught me how to be independent, passionate, and a good leader.

Matteo Cameron

My athletic highlights include being named MVP in lacrosse, playing lacrosse for four years, securing a spot in the lacrosse playoffs, and ranking in the top 10 for saves in lacrosse for two consecutive years.
In football, my favorite memory is our journey to the playoffs in lacrosse.
In terms of my academic plans, I am determined to earn a master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
The person who has had the most profound influence on my life is my dad. He never pressured me into anything, but his unwavering support and willingness to assist me in any way possible have been invaluable.

Football has been the highlight of my athletic journey.
My favorite memories are every time we scored a touchdown. 
Looking ahead, my future plan involves attending college and playing on a collegiate sports team.
When it comes to influential people in my life, I thank my coaches and teachers.

The highlight of my athletic journey has been serving as the team captain. One of my most cherished memories from this season is that it's the first time in my high school career where we had enough team members to score points. Even better, we placed third place as a team and I proudly placed first place overall in our group.
Looking ahead to my academic future, I plan to study economics in college. I aspire to continue my passion for running, whether it's representing the school team or joining a club.
The most influential person in my life is my mom. She has been an unwavering source of support and encouragement, consistently guiding me through life's challenges."

One of my athletic highlights was when I was named the captain of the varsity volleyball team. While I don't have a specific favorite memory for volleyball, Coach Carbone made the entire volleyball season an amazing memory. Coach Carbone made volleyball fun and exciting to play. Everyday I would look forward to going to practice and games. Carbone always had a smile on his face and would spread that to the whole team. We had running jokes, and we would often mess with him but he would always play along and let me take my shots. The team always knew that Carbone would make us smile even when we weren't playing our best game. Carbone truly made volleyball one of my favorite memories of high school.
Looking ahead, I plan to continue my academic career pursuing a career as a dental hygienist. While I won't be playing volleyball at the collegiate level, the sport has left a mark on my heart.
The most influential person in my life is my mom. My mom has always been my rock. Ever since I was young, I've watched my mom and knew that when I got older I wanted to be just like her. She showed me how to be kind, compassionate, and most of all strong. From coaching my first little league team to watching me play my last season as a senior, I knew I could always look in the stands and see you there supporting me. I truly can't explain how much your support and influence means to me. Thank you, mom, for always being there for me. Thank you for being an amazing role model, thank you for inspiring me and and thank you for showing me what a good person is. I love you, Mom.

My favorite memory is being with my team because we all get along and have such a great bond with each other.
I aspire to attend college to become a teacher and ultimately earn my doctorate degree.
In college, I would like to join a club team for cheer.
The most influential person in my life is undeniably my mom. She is always teaching me the right way to do things and she's always there for me when I need her.

A memorable athletic highlight is breaking down the team chant before every game. On the field, a favorite memory was when Falen strutted onto the field during warm-ups with a Dunkin' iced coffee topped with whipped cream. Taylor and I continued sharing jokes about it throughout the entire game.
For my academic future, I plan to attend a good college to major in dental hygiene. I plan to continue my lacrosse journey by participating in club lacrosse in college.
The most influential people in my life have been my parents. They have always supported me throughout my athletic career since I was younger. They have guided my habits, attitude, and dedication to not only sports but life lessons too.

My athletic highlights include my exceptional agility and having lots of stamina.
One of my favorite memories is winning counties last year. We played a hard game against our biggest rival and we were able to come out champions.
My future plans include attending college and playing soccer in college. 
The most influential person in my life is my dad. He has consistently supported me morally towards all my goals whether they were academic or athletic.

Ava Scagliola

My athletic highlights are being named MVP of the 2022 soccer season and receiving an All-County Honorable Mention in 2022.
My favorite memory of soccer was getting pulled up to varsity when I was in eighth grade and being able to play with so many different girls.
I plan to attend college and consider attending law school. I plan to join a club sports team at my college. 
My mom has been the most influential person in my life. She was always taught me to practice kindness and to be a good person. She also has taught me to never give up on myself and to always put worth my best efforts.

Sofia Valenzuela

My athletic highlight is that I'm a highly skilled defensive soccer player. 
One of my favorite memories is playing with my team, the girls I've grown up with, watching us all come to the end of an era as we played together.
My plan is to continue my academic and athletic career at Dominican University.
The most influential person in my life is my dad. Without his support and guidance, I wouldn't be the athlete I am today and would have never pushed myself to become the person I am today.
